Mach3 won't modulate the laser pulse. They are working on this though. Linkmotion doesn't use G-Code. It just acts as a printer driver. All you have to do once set up is draw your file, use "no Fill" and "Hairline" for the drawing in Corel then choose "print" and the file is sent to linkmotion and Linkmotion controls the laser pulses. The new version of Linkmotion uses USB and can cut 3D so it will be much better and I think it won't lock the computer like my Version does.Have fun with it:-)

Hello! I make a laser cutting machine. Now the sheetcam software make g-code afterwards the Mach3 controls the machine. This too complicated, and I looked at it Linkmotion Solustan program, and appears very good. What does it for you the step-dir signs for the motor control? Is it necessary to put hardware yet into the personal computer? Thanks

Linkmotion from Solustan.

The drawings are set up in CorelDraw X3 then sent through a driver to the laser. Just like a printer. Linkmotion acts as the driver software. You need to use "no Fill" and "hairline" in Corel Draw for the laser to follow the cut path.Very simple to do after you find out how. (which takes a few days/weeks.)

where did you source the laser head from?

The table raises and lowers for a couple of reasons. First it reduces the mass of the head so that you can really move the optics around quickly without the extra mass of it causing vibrations and undue stress at high speed and, secondly, it makes room for the rotary attachment or thick things like boxes etc. Basically it's all about weight loss (like I need too)Rich. |
