Theres this interview with Jerry on The Grateful Dead Movie, where he was talking about how he was tripping so hard, and got so mad because he didnt think a recording session was going well, that he grabbed Phil Lesh, and threw him down a flight of stairs...Only to use the recordings later on the album. Its during the credits I think (Of the GD Movie).

Sure, it was it was probably a Purple Haze period. Actually, I think that it would be pretty hard to sound that solid flying heavily on acid. From slight experience. Maybe on a mellow dose.
