epic fail. The US was not founded on religious grounds, Jefferson, principal author of the declaration of independence was a huge advocate of religious freedom and separation of church and state. As was Washington who drafted a treaty with Tripoli (also signed by Adams) in 1796 which contained: "As the gouvernment of the USA is not in any sense founded on the christian religion" So no, it clearly was not founded on religion.
