no airfoil is better for slow speed.use the online airfoil designer to quickly cut wings from sheets.a strip may be added on the front at an angle to increase glide. slope video will follow.

Yes it offers extremely variable speed from super slow to extremely high speed in near flat mode. You can't go totally flat because it has no lift and will descend.

higher angle of attack and lighter weight are the reason that it can fly "slower". However, on level flight it has less lift and drag and needs to fly faster to aloft.

nice skills! i do think that a high torque lightweight system is key here. i prefer super high speed, but i might give that a whirl too.
