In December 2006 The Cornell Ranger, developed by the Biorobotics and Locomotion Lab at Cornell University, set a new record for the farthest distance traveled by an autonomous "4-legged biped" walking robot. The CU Ranger walked a total of 1km and is capable of much more.

Hmmm... I'll check...(Holds up fingers, counts them)Nope, I'm fine. Now, can you count? Two legs on the outside, plus two in the middle equals four (a quadruped), but since the middle two legs are fastened together at the bottom, so they count as one, that makes three legs - a triped).

Three legs? Are you blind?

That is incredibly impressive. How did it do in the Relay?Small pedantic point - you call it a biped, but I count three legs...Never mind. Again, well done chaps.
