The fandangos de Huelva is a regional dance, but also considered part of flamenco, and included in flamenco concert and smaller shows. In flamenco, many songs/dances are slower - i.e., the cante jondo/baile jondo dances

Would you feel disrespected if someone wanted to dance like you? We are American artists who love and respect flamenco and we've never experienced anything but positive reactions from Spanish artists for our work. In fact, We're pround to have received eight awards from the Spanish Minsitry of Culture to promote Spanish culture in the U.S., one of which helped to pay for this particular production. So go, find a good flamenco teacher and dive into this beautiful art form.

This is so amazing! I wish I could dance like this. Is it considered disrespectful to your culture for others to try?

You are right, the Fandango is a sub-genre of the Flamenco dance genre, but gigagamer16 is not wrong either. while there is a Flamenco Genre, the Flamenco Dance also exists and is native to Andalusia. So while the Fandango strictly falls under the Flamenco genre, there are a lot of Andalusians that would very upset if you said that their dance (the flamenco) was actually not a dance of it's own.

The fandango is part of Flamenco music.U can't say there is ''a'' flamenco for it's not so defined. It's like pop music. U wouldn't say a ballad is a slower version of the pop right ? It's just a style within Pop. The same here. |
