I've seen two other head on air to air both similar situations one RC plane making an approach another doing a fly by or take off etc. In one case one of the planes survived minus a prop and some minor damage. Though a hefty bag was needed to pick up the pieces.

That is why you fly an established pattern. It keeps everyone going around in the same direction. Waste of a nice airplane. |
