I dont think itll be to wise to fix your shotgun with a bayonett. but shotguns are already as equally intimidating

depends on what you want to do...coast guard can be more action oriented then the Air Force. If you want contact me and I can tell you more about it.

I'm thinking about joining the Coast Guard. I got my bachelor of science last year and I want to try something different. Air Force or Coast Guard?

Something tells me that a knife on the end of a gun while rocking around on the ocean is not the best idea. It is sort of like running with scissors after drinking at the bar...As for the Aux, no, you will never fire a gun. Maybe a flare gun, but no weapons. Why can't you join the Coast Guard?

i agree the way they do it is not as you see in the movies. its not fast and guns blazing. its methodical and extremly dangerous.

im in the USCG right now, although its great that you are in the auxiluaries, i suggest that you try for full time. The boarding crew takes a lot of work and most of the time you will not fire a shot. However keep persevering and you could get there. I am currently trying to get to the point of where i can apply. So keep on it mate and you will get there with hard work.

I would pay to be in the USGC. Like USGS my boat gun is a Mossberg 590 - except I have an M9 Bayonet on mine. Too bad they dont let the Coasties use Bayonets..lol Theres something really intimidating about a shotgun fitted with a bayonet.I just joined USGC AUX...but I have a feeling I will never get to board anything...or fire a shot. Damn.. lol. Thanks for posting this vid - god its fun to watch!

Here's an idea...why don't you become a Coast Guard Boarding Officer, or LEDET member and learn the difference between REAL boardings at sea, and those you've been watching on TV and YouTube. The flashy video you're watching doesn't begin to show you the necessary details. Spend some time talking directly to Coasties like the ones in the film, and you'll understand. Tear gas....please.

Coast Guard does not use Tear Gas....door knob.Petty Officer 2nd class United States Coast Guard sends

I don't think the coast guard was very professional about that. I was under the impression that miami coast guard would be more experience about that kind of situation. just the way that they boarded was incredibly dangerous. the least they could've done was shoot some tear gas up there while they tired to board it. |
