In response to some earlier posts...The lyrics are from Agnostic Front who's singer is a Cuban immigrant, not a white guy. Yes, more white people are on welfare than other groups. But % of a race on welfare are lower for whites. Poverty rate is higher for non-whites. Lyrics were written by someones observation in the early 80's which may have been true in the population they were exposed to. Maybe not. The media then was also exploiting the subject contributing to perceptions. |
