Steven Henze, age 57 of Northfield, passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Funeral Services will be 11:00am Saturday, April 19th at St Peter's Lutheran Church in Northfield. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8:00pm at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield and at the Church on Saturday 1 hour prior to Services. Steven Dean Henze was born March 8, 1951 in Belgrade, MN, son of Orville and Reta (Schweitzberger) Henze. He was raised on his parents' dairy farm where he helped with chores and the farm work. He attended school in Belgrade, graduating from high school in 1969. On December 5, 1970 he was united in marriage to Pamela Kay Johnson at the Lutheran Church in Brooten, MN. Steve began his working life with the Minnesota Highway Department in the Paynesville area plowing snow in the winter and highway work during the remainder of the year. In 1979 he and his family moved to Northfield when Steve and his brother Stanley bought the Amoco Station at St Olaf Avenue (now Northfield Amcon). In March of 1984 Steve and his brother sold the Northfield Station and bought a service station in Tempe, AZ and over the next few years lived and worked in the Tempe/Mesa area. In March of 1991 Steve and his family moved back to Northfield when he began working at Malt-o-Meal in production. Over the years he advanced in experience and currently was a line manager. In his free time, Steve loved to spend time with his family and really felt blessed with his grandchildren. He would continuously find reasons to spend time with his grandchildren, Tawnee and Nolan. He was always happiest when surrounded by his grandkids and family. He also enjoyed a passion for fast, high performance cars like Corvettes and GTOs, always trading one for another. Steven Henze is survived by his wife Pamela; sons Brent (fiancée Alison Vivant) of Lakeville, Chad of Northfield; brothers Stanley (Tammy) Henze of Apple Valley, Larry (Dee) Henze of Chino Valley, AZ; sister Sally (Kevin) Isaacson of Aberdeen, SD; grandchildren Tawnee and Nolan Henze; step-grandchildren Amber and Dylan Hesse. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bev Birch and infant sister Robinette Henze. Funeral arrangements by the Bierman Funeral Home of Northfield.
