Phenomenal tune from a phenomenal album. Saw JH once in a small club in NYC. No band. Just him. Aside from the banjo, he played the fiddle and flat picked the guitar. I remember him doing the Golden Globe song. So many of these great bluegrass players can just do it all. Such a loss.

To dodgewaldo: FYI, John Hartford passed away long before bluegrass started to sound like country. These are the real musicians. Just like Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, and so on. You're just a moron that obviously doesn't know what he's talking about.

You fail to mention or recognize that Hartford also played the fiddle. Extremely well in my opinion.. ..and before you start the rant, There are many styles of fiddle playing out there and John Hartford had his own style. Bill Monroe himself said to learn the fundamentals and the timing of Bluegrass music then GET YOUR OWN STYLE! Oh.. BTW John also played the guitar but you probably never gave him a listen long enough to find that out. Too bad.. He really did some wonderful stuff.

Nobody is criticizing dodgewaldo's talent or ability. He's a fine flatpicker. I think that the issue is his decision to trash talk so many fine musicians on the same media resource that he's trying to showcase and promote his own musical talents. It just doesn't seem wise trash talk in this way especially when you play the same (or similar) styles of music. Trash talking other musicians is not a very good way to positively promote yourself and make friends and fans.. Think about it.
