This song is about Jerry's father. He served in the Army in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division. I know, because not only did I go to High School with Jerry Cantrell, I have met the "Rooster" himself. The Vietnamese had no word for Eagle, so they called the 101st the "Chicken Men" because of their patch. Henceforth, the Rooster. He was a medic, and told me all kinda stuff. I still joined the Army, and I got 4 years left. HOO-AH!!!
