Jupiter sounds (so strange!) NASA-Voyager recording

From an original CD: JUPITER NASA-VOYAGER SPACE SOUNDS (1990) BRAIN/MIND ResearchFascinating recording of Jupiter sounds (electromagnetic "voices") by NASA-Voyager. The complex interactions of charged electromagnetic particles from the solar wind , planetary magnetosphere etc. create vibration "soundscapes". It sounds very interesting, even scary.Jupiter is mostly composed of hydrogen and helium. The entire planet is made of gas, with no solid surface under the atmosphere. The pressures and temperatures deep in Jupiter are so high that gases form a gradual transition into liquids which are gradually compressed into a metallic "plasma" in which the molecules have been stripped of their outer electrons. The winds of Jupiter are a thousand metres per second relative to the rotating interior. Jupiter's magnetic field is four thousand times stronger than Earth's, and is tipped by 11° degrees of axis spin. This causes the magnetic field to wobble, which has a profound effect on trapped electronically charged particles. This plasma of charged particles is accelerated beyond the magnetosphere of Jupiter to speeds of tens of thousands of kilometres per second. It is these magnetic particle vibrations which generate some of the sound you hear on this recording.Visit http://www.inner-net.com/bmr/b... for more sounds.

Makes me think of the Waterphone sound you get in some synths.

actually, i take it back..... if you want the "real" explanation, read the comments about this video in the blue box to the right of the video. perhaps we spoke too soon. lol noobs! :D

there is a difference between a microphone and a radio receiver. it may be possible that the sounds were created from radio receivers but it was never stated that that was the case, and to be honest the title is a little misleading with not enough information to draw conclusions. obviously if that is the case, than it is a simple explanation.

It just sounds like some guy with a synth...I heard wierd shit like this on the radio. But wow. Is it really?

no wind in a vacuum....

dude, radio waves, they travel thru uhh...forgot the word XD emptyness...vaccum yeah that...I mean, not all microphones work the same, if yuo hace the proper receptor you can pick lots of signals and sounds in outer space, that's how they discovery new plantes stars etc etc

just to let you know, that is the wind around mars blowing on the microphone ourside the space craft

just to let you know that is the wind blowing on the microphone outside of the shuttle or what ever is recording it
