I recently accuired a Forrest Green Naval Aviators tunic that was purchased by the owner in 1944 at Sachs Fifth Avenue in Pensacola where he was training on the F4U. He has told me several stories of the power of this aircraft. Good Stuff!!

Hi auldm,I may have double posted earlier as the 1st time I tried to add the comment it did not accept it, but obviously the 2nd time it did. I was certainly in no way implying that you were taking credit for it. You have done a fine job in your presentation. I was simply adding a little more information about the footage. N9964Z has its own dedicated website. I cannot post the link here, being against Youtube policy, but if you google caf corsair, the website will be listed first.

I wasn't claiming credit for it i just took the fragmented bits from the documentry and stuck then together and replaced the sound track.

Thanks for posting this. The Goodyear FG-1D Corsair principally seen in the footage is N9964Z, and is the Commemorative Air Force's bird. It is operating and maintained by the CAF Corsair Sponsor Group. The footage of '530' was filmed in July 2001, at the aircraft's home base, Lancaster, TX., and was for the History Channel's documentary "Battle Stations: Corsair - Pacific Warrior". The pilot seen flying the Corsair is Chris Avery.
