Windmills provide power when they can, reducing the peak load on traditional generation methods. They are not base-load stations so of course you still need other sources.

Denmark also imports plenty of energy from it's neighbour countries. And that energy is generated with nuclear or coal power plants... Just proves that these windmills are pipe dream.

Actually, the blades are designed like airplane props, to all fall off together if something like this happens; the entire prop is supposed to come off. Otherwise its like shoes in a washer, and the force of the imbalance will literally rip the thing (or the wing, in the case of a plane!) to shreds.So, this is a pretty epic fail. One blade fell off and then the whole thing blew up!
