DCC is a new method of model train control. Instead of sending power through the tracks just to turn the wheels of the train, it can send signals to individual locomotives so they can be moved seperately on the same track! Much better for shunting!

what is DCC and what does it do?

Thanks, you elitist EuroButthole, but Marklin does NOT make British rolling stock (which I am interested) and is ridiculously overpriced for the same quality. Marklin digital is no better than Hornby and for about half the price of either one can get a superior American digital control system. I plan on running British rolling stock on American track (probably made in China) with Atlas Digital which kicks both Hornby and Marklin's control systems COMBINED.

Was that a live Steam controller in the back ground?

he wants to run the trains at a scale shunting speed for added realism

You can run any train, so long as you fit it with a decoder ;)
