c) More complex View options (not based on hand coding the template just to access data)Things that I liked about it : it seemed straight forward to understand the MVC structure, although I would be curious how it could interact with other languages, other databases and other templates languages. Using standard technologies would be a big bonus.

I have mixed feelings towards this. Whilst the demo was extremely quick to show, it certainly lacked complexity. I would like to see a demo which had :a) A more complex structured object and associated databases (that looked like all SQL had to be hand coded, ouch)b) More complex business logic (where would all the business logic be defined? Where can default actions be defined for administrative functions? How can Individual user actions etc be defined?)

Yep, I saw it too.

i agree.

I didn't say I don't use high level frameworks when it makes sense. My point was simply to point out that Python isn't difficult to code in like the first guy I replied to said. It was simply a statement to correct a false assumption, and one I stand by. It was the silly replies of 'noob' that got my blood up; I object to being insulted for no reason by people who know nothing about me.

so why should i take web frameworks out of the picture, when am building a web applications. dosent matter how simple you think python is as a language, most languages are simple too if you take frameworks out of the picture. But before you can do anything useful besides scripting, you still need a framework.

Ruby is a language, Ruby on Rails is the web framework. Listen nothing wrong with Python, Ruby just does the job for me. I use java too, but not all projects require java. Productivity is what counts, whats the point of using a low level api and have no productivity. You don't sound like a professional programmer.

People like you are the reason proffesional programmers hate Ruby fanatics, you 'code' up a generic looking stupid website nobody sees, using some uber high level framework and api that even my youngest son learned in a week, and then you have the presumption to go around calling experienced programmers who use other languages 'noob'.

Idiots. Ruby on Rails isn't as language, it's a framework. I doubt you can even code outside of your little container. If you take web frameworks out of the picture, Python is FAR more simple than Ruby...if you find coding Python difficult, then I don't think you should be calling anyone else a noob.

Ever programmed? This is not for a beginner that has never programmed. Read some stuff first.
