Noticed your posts while reading this this thread. Not disagreeing whith anything you're saying but have you read Understanding Firearm Ballistics by Robert A. Rinker? Very informative book with all the formulas for muzzle energy. Your post reminded me of this book.

This man is way too over dramatic. No I wasn't a Navy Seal and do respect him for his service. The M82 has been around for over 25 years and the .50 BMG cartridge has been used since the 1920's. The shooting method he is describing, .50 cal, sniping is nothing new, used in Vietnam by Carlos Hathcock. With respect my point is the Discovery channel made this way over dramatic. People like him and the media corporation he is working for are giving fuel to the anti-2nd Amendment groups.

ive witnessed this rifle first hand 6/10 shot group @ 1 1/2 mile 3' w x 6' t targetof course i think some of that was shooter error...cheers |
