I'm not saying those men aren't smart, I'm saying that women and people of other races or other sexualities (bc most of those men are straight) can be just as smart. But studies and statistics show that when a group of people with the credentials apply for a job, the straight white male has a better chance of getting that job and/or getting higher pay.
