Jeffrey Dahmer kidnapped, tortured, raped, dismembered, killed, and then ate his victims (not always in that order). I'm pretty sure he didn't have a good heart but was lucky enough to stay alive long enough to repent.Do you believe Jeffrey Dahmer is in heaven, and George Carlin (if he didn't repent) is in hell? If you say yes, that's just one more reason for me to disregard your religion.

I disagree and agree. Absolutism in itsself needs a sole base to evolve. The two strongest bases in history I can think of are religion and racism/facism. It's been that way since the bible was written (the jews were very violent wayyy before the christians and the middle ages for instance) so it's definetly not just the corruption or misuse of it. I do agree that the RC church started to 'invent' certain doctrines as the blood libel and witches in order to enhance their powerfull position.

The whole religion and stupid people thing is true. Back in ye olde day, when the church was the white house, churches had little black boxes with golden hawks standing on it. These boxes was used to judge if you were holy or a sinner. Using the power of electricity, these "golden hawks" were actually copper and the equivlent of AA battery was inside the box. A priest would hear the talk of the town and see how many coins got dumped into the bowl, then would judge if the person was a sinner.
