Thank you, addiyo8. While I have lived through many earthquakes in the U.S., I did not know what an earthquake could do to you guys in Iceland. Thank you for your clear and excellent answer.

in iceland houses are very strongly built.. house take damage of though... but since we dont have many of those 200meter+ builds and giant highways and ofc giant bridges the damage we take isent that visible.. that injuries that were here werent major injuries mostly minor ones

Yeah, there were still aftershakes for like a week in the Selfoss area. Some went up to 3,6.

Thanks, Tommi, I am reading various reports at different Internet sites and from various news agencies with reports of dozens of injuries in Selfoss and Hveragerdi. Others say there were injuries even in Reykjavik. Remember, I am in California and a 6.7 earthquake on the Richter scale here would bring down buildings, highways, bridges, etc.
