okay the point of him being his own grandpa can be made without the kids(two sons) invovled he married a widow with a daughter. the daughter married his dad. his daughter=his step mom but his wife is still her mom. so his wife is his mom's mom or grandma eg he's married his grandma=>his own grandpa

The description of this song is not correct. This song was writen in 1947 by Dwight Latham and Moe Jaffe after some discussion about how it could happen on their radio show in 30's called "The Jesters".
