If you watch at :30-:32 you can see Budd cutting in front of Decker. She should have been DQ'd.

No she wasn't. It was just an accident.

I liked at the end when the announcer said 'a new olympic record' - it was the FIRST ever! LOL As for the tripping incident, it was clearly deliberate.

Decker was tripped! She was robbed!

shoulda, coulda, woulda......the fact is she wasn't concentrating & fell. Her own fault plain & simple...Zola was just the unlucky person next to her who got her legs tangled.

Just shows how much psychology plays in sport.Being booed for 2 laps ruins a race, knowing the two favourites are out of it, either physically or mentally, gives you such a boost.Zola Budd was robbed by Mary Decker-Slaney's milking of a situation when she knew she had lost.

When the crowd was booing was it hard to concentrate out there?

A lot of highs for me in this video. The yank crashing out in front of her home crowd. A white South African (using Thatcher's Britain to bust sanctions) being booed. A Romanian 'woman' who looks like Fabio winning the most forgotten about gold medal in history. We atheists certainly had our resolve tested this day.

lol was she attacked?

You are absolutely right! Just like Ecaterina Szabo made a mistake on UB in the team competition which cost her the gold to Mary Lou Retton. Go Mary Lou! |
