Great Video, Thanks for sharing.I have just purchased a KMX Tornado and thinking of adding a BionX electric system as well. My only concern, is/was the size of the battery and it it would fit the small space behind the seat. Which motor and battery are you using? Also what size is your rear wheel? My wheels are 20" at rear and 16" in front and 7 speeds. Thanks again

What is the speed and range that you have gotten. I have a kmx x-class and want to make it an etrike

It looks weak and worthless. Typical video hiding is actual performance by the use of close ups on wheel spinning with fast music to simulate speed. The only performance actual perfoamance shown is a 5 second clip driving 5mph around a downhill corner. You tubers please stop with the music covering real time performance and sound.

I woudnt worry about a little bit of extra rubber weight. Following your logic if you use the 24" with a fat tyre then you have the equivalent of a 26", so you would still have to change the front wheels? The Kartss I rode at Interbike were production models. Everyone I know proclaimed the obvious improvement over the early type. The new models felt and looked way better. I dont know why you were dissapointed, were you expecting something specific that didnt manifest? Thanks.

Only if you go to small tires and thin rims. Since it is equipped with discs it could be done, but you have to change the front wheels too. 24" with 2.5" tires have almost the same size as 26" with a 1" tire. The ride is harder because you have to have more pressure in the tires and the overall weight of the trike (especially with a motor is) is quite big.I tested the prototype at Interbike too and I was so disappointed. Your comment has given me back my hope for an improvement.

Apparently you can fit a 26" wheel to the KMX large models, woudnt that increase speed? The handling on the new 2008 models is a vast improvement over the early frame geometry, I rode them at Interbike in September. I'm just waiting for my 2008 Kart now..

Good to hear. Very cool bike, have fun:-)

Very good actually, I did the wheel myself. Didn't have a 24" kit so I took a 24" Dirt-rim and fat DT-Swiss spokes. I did a 100km special tour with fans of our local soccer-club to the cup finals this year in it was raining all the time. I got wet, but the BionX just worked fine. |
