Reznor was influenced more by earlier industrial groups I believe, like Throbbing Gristle and such. But those influences don't really show up in his music as much though.

Whoa relax now...And the fact that you don't give it a "label" doesn't change the fact that NIN has a label, and it's called Industrial. It doesn't denigrate the music in anyway that I can see. I don't see anyone complaining about Led Zeppelin being called Rock. I don't see any point in complaining about Nine Inch Nails being called Industrial, after all, he has yet to object to it after almost two decades. |
