Listen, he came through where I live in New York Many times usually with Joey Bishop and the guys would all meet up at the Concord Hotel in the Catskills and man, the booze the broads, the fun LOL They lived in a wonderful time. The Rat Pack, God Bless them all very talented.

Sammy Davis was a great singer, but I was disappointed that his wikipedia entry did not address his legendary sexual appetite and deviancy. For me, that's part of his appeal. He was this little guy wit ha great big voice who was also a sex fiend. I think he may have been bi-sexual too, but I'm not sure about that.

No Offense taken, Im shocked when ANY KID of any color today can speak english and Im serious with all the slang and shortcuts and things the kids have going on today. I drove school bus in New York for 26 years and every group or gang has their own way of talking. Sorry if it sounded racist, I was meaning to sound proud of him for the harsh beginning he had.

GMPNY, i enjoyed your comment except for the "he is so well spoken" bit. for all the progress society has made, referring to educated african americans (school-educated or otherwise) as "well spoken" still has that racial tinge. we never hear of people being surprised at a "white kid" from the streets being "so well spoken". because society still expects a white kid to be well spoken over a black kid. that is sad. but you're a lovely lady so i am not attacking you. i hope you don't feel i am.

Raised in the streets practically and yet he is so well spoken and such a gentlman. A real credit to kids everywhere who have a dream to be the best that they can be. Sam really was the best at what he did.
