Let's see - what does nitrous oxide do? It provides a lot of oxygen to enhance (<-understatement) combustion. So a fire with a plentiful supply of nitrous (like a venting tank) will just laugh at a handheld fire extinguisher. The only thing I would have done would be to clear the area. They're lucky they didn't get burned or hurt by flying shrapnel. The flames shooting through the hood remind me of an OA cutting torch.
