Man, Clapton is great now but at the time He couldn't follow or play along with the greats, His playing sounds mechanicle and rehearsed compaired to Wolf, Hell if you sung blues and hung around Muddy, Wolf and all the blues legends you would be great too!

Its clear that, at the time they did'nt understand real blues timing, Man" Wolf had to stop the music, play and count for these muggs, just because you can play the instrument does'nt mean that can play the music. Especially when you get around someone real, the feeling is not the same. Some people are only legends because of the songs and the style they learned and stole!

I think it means piano. Right? Winwood Clapton Watts Wyman, so the piano would have to be Steve.

Wow, I found this one by accident-this gave me a good ol' schoolin' in the blues ,and themasters that played them. I've got to find out more of these guys to listen to ,to help me get further back to the roots-where it all started. Thanks for the posting. I wonder if this could be found on cd?

Steve Winwood is credited on organ. I just can't hear him though.

I agree, melting into a song does not seem to be one of Eric's stronger characteristics. . .but thats just his style, you know, being right up in front of you. . .i think it would have sounded better if george harrison had played the part, melting in the song was his strongest ability, i feel.=]

First, I have to say that I don't know all too much about music. But I don't like Clapton's part in this recording at all. Sounds somehow alien to the song -- too much Rock. He just sounds out of place imo. I do love Howlin' Wolf, though. He is absolutely fantastic.
