It's awesome to see a man who is jealous for the name and honor of God. He loves God. And this prosperity gospel... It's horrible. I know not what else to say.

I agree with Pastor Wilkerson. Where is the 'humility' in the 'prosperity' gospel? Can anyone who reads the gospel with an open heart and mind, and seriously believe that Jesus Christ preaches anything remotely similar to this. "The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil", and "pride goeth before the fall". God bless ALL those, who with love, humility of spirit, and through personal sacrifice, do Christ's work of reconciliation in this world. Their light will always shine.

You bring up an awesome point. People have no reverence for God. H'es either their buddy or their Genie in a bottle, waiting around to submit to our every whim.This makes me think of a couple of songs you shoulc check out - Steve Camp's "Living Dangerously in the Hands of God" and Keith Green's "Asleep in the Light" - the second describes many individuals, but even moreso, this "word of faith" movement.

The reality is, there IS no order in this movment - it's truly "anything goes."You're right - the Word of God is our standard. Whether you agree with the idea of prophecies or not, no matter what the prophecy says, if it doesn't agree with the Word, then it must be false.

when God convicted me of my sin, I had been away from Him, acting like an idiot. The Word 'slayed' me, in The Fear Of The Living God! Then His Forgiveness healed me. What it produced in me was a hatred of the sin that I so easily fell into. I am far 'from being there' but my life changed from that moment. It was a sobering wake up call...not a laughing matter!It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of The Living God. HE IS merciful, but God is not to be taken lightly!

AMEN to this!! Where is the order in all of this??? Also, I am thinking of the verse that states that The Lord is the SAME yesterday, today, and forever.If I have misquoted, please forgive me.Look, I have wondered about this movement, but stayed away because I just was not sure. What is wrong with following Jesus and His Words only?That way we will noy be deceived.Be careful! There is always just enough truth in a lie to make you think that it is of God. Be Careful!

Amen! My first exposure to Bentley was the violence that he laughs about. The teaching he spouts, however, was what really convinced me he isn't of God.

I watched Todd Bentley for a couple of nights, with interest. When I saw how rough he was treating people, and 'bamming' them I stopped watching. We have to be so on guard. May God protect and help us to NOT be deceived! Following the Saviour is a life of sacrifice, not a life of demanding and ordering blessings in Jesus' Name. I keep thinking about the moneychangers that Jesus chased from His Father's House. HMMM... |
