Great driving. Yes he did some of the driving and also his buddy Bud Ekins in the real hairysequences. I read that it was a 68 Mustang with a 390 blown supercharged Ford engine with Race cams. Sort of like having 44D's on a 4'11 girl. I lived in San Francisco and those shots were done pretty much all over the city. The stretch where the crash was looked like south 101. Anyway it looked like "action, cut" many times during the chase. It was McQueen at his coolest in this movie.
