it takes minutes to find a disconnected ribbon cable..If there was a no power.check the power cord..

It takes time to find a problem like a disconnected cable. Especially as the customers description was that it had worked and then stopped, something not symptomatic to this problem. The last place you'd look is the IDE cable, I'd charge plenty for that time.

You cannot judge all Geek Squad stores from one store, i know at my precinct we hardly ever misdiagnose, and if we do and we find its something like this video then we man up and refund the services.
