he said mostly...and baseball is mostly non contactthe only exception is the catcher at home platestop trying to find someone to rant at
elsenciillo (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
theres mostly no contact in sports? you have to be kidding me? he cnt play baseball because what if hes running full speed to first base & hits the pitcher coming in ? what if hes rounding third & theres a play at home where he has to tackle the catcher with all them big hard equipments? think man use your head for once would you!

only if he was slower the he would have been horse collared by #56 and maybe would have just tore his acl and fractured his fibula and tibia instead, who knows maybe he could have returned from that.

I don't think it was a dirty hit at all. And I am biased, I go to Ball State. It was just really unfortuneate that this happened to him, but it wasn't on purpose or dirty, who would think to injure someones spine and end a career? But anyway, Cards are 10-0 and we still whooped IU's ass! :p

No, the IU player didn't bring him down. He got a brief hold, but lost his grip...but I don't doubt the fact that the brief contact may have caused love to lose his balance and be at an angle that put all the force of a hit in one area.

I can't believe people think the hit was dirty, or on purpose. I'm totally neutral on the subject, since I'm not a supporter of either team, but I just can't see any helmet-to-helmet, or even leading with the helmet. Pause the video at around 0:41 and you'll see that the IU player is using his shoulder. There was no helmet-to-chest contact, let alone helmet-to-helmet.Just an accident due to a hard hit and Love's blazing speed. He would have felt the same amount of force as a 25mph car crash.

thats so gay... he could have made it huge and went pro....
glaked23 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Yeah it sucks i mean to have the potential to make millions of dollars in the NFL (which he defiantly had) then have it taken away on one hit i mean it really does stink and does seem unfair that 1 hit can end a career. But no he's walking fine now and is "expected to live a full and normal iife" but it's been called to risky to have him play football.
