ur right, the anaconda is technically bigger when we consider length versus weight, but yeah its not longest it comes close though to the Reticulated Python

I meant to say that the retic commonly reaches greater lengths, but the anaconda tends to be thicker since it uses water to support its girth most of the time. But the snake generally accepted to be the "world's largest" is currently a retic, but exceptionally large even for the species.

They are actually close and the winner really depends on if you are measuring by mass or by length and if you count exceptionally large individuals or if you only look at the typical size.
