Personally I would say it has something more to do with slaves. The black African slaves brought to America who were disgraced as slave workers now their descendants make up a large portion of the American population, it also comes with others too, many of the countries that have been invaded by america or have warred with them have had alot of citizens move to America.Thats just my opinion,yes when people say Americans it can be reffering to almost any race because America is diverse ethnically
