You don't multiply by 8 in all games.I'm not sure, but i think you multiply by 8 if the game was made in actionscript 2.

You use 8 in ALL flash games. I'm not sure why, but that's how it is.

Try the Cheat Engine tutorial, it's in the same folder as Cheat Engine.
