Who's fault is it? These people obviously don't know how to drive in the snow.

The people were jumping out of the car to SLOW THINGS DOWN. Of course it didn't work. But they weren't jumping out of fear. They wanted to use their body weight to decelerate things and while the idea is interesting, it won't help in a situation such as this. People who drive in snowy/icy conditions should be driving 80% slower than usual. Keep a prudent speed. Actually, go above and beyond a prudent speed!

If I ever drive where it snows I'm putting an old tire in the front and back of my car..maybe two.

At least you get snow; it hasn't snowed here in Bangladesh for 3 months.

Gently on and off breaking and if it doubt and it kept sliding, i'd have slammed in reverse and revved the tits of it!
