Uncle Ho was a student of American history, esp. of our revolution & the lives of the Founding Fathers. Ho often quoted Thomas Jefferson from memory. Read L.B.J.'s "The Vantage Point." In it is a letter from Ho Chi Minh pleading with Johnson to stop bombing civilians. Did 3 million Vietnamese, the majority of which were noncombatants, commit suicide? Vietnam was a playground for the U.N. & commie Russia & China to prosecute total war.

The Japanese were the most feared fighting force in the world, their training was far superior to anything in any country today. Just the live bayonet training for a start made them so much more effective killers.So you got lucky with developing the bomb and having basses in bomber range of Japan.... Without that they would never have given up and taking them by force would have cost more US troops then the rest of the war.
