Really? Man that's weird. Granted, Jazz's Air Bottle at YXJ is... well, a joke, but we see so many "A/C ### APU UNSERVICRABLE GOUND POWER REQUIRED- but yep- 183 I remember us having fun with that one.. 103, 114, 154, 156, 158, 159- that one was a disaster, 186, my favorite sadly was 104 that was written off. Man, the memories! makes me want to go back almost. We had one come in flaps stuck in full and 150 lbs of fuel left, one stuck on 0 flap landing at double the normal speed.

i've never heard of these APU issues, sure, fin 183 on QK probably still hasn't had its APU serviced, but otherwise I never have witnessed any issues with them.

the erjs are from Brazil, just to let you know

haha yes- we got all the stories from YVR about the ERJs.. I've been on the Bombardier website and the next gen CRJs look mighty impressive- I'd still say not the best for the really northern climates, but if the APU has been upped to the same one in the 900 series, that's half the battle as far as I'm concerned(btw, it was only now i realized my first post was on my old account: I'm ratpack1963)

the 175/190s are awful in YYC. they need to be 'rebooted' all the time in cold ops, deicing is the same, but for overnight aircraft, the water tanks need to be emptied because they will freeze otherwise. sometimes the plane just won't start if its too cold.the technology on the 175/190s are pretty sweet, but they put way too much on too quick, and when it's too cold they just die. who would have guessed a Brasilian plan wouldn't work in the north?

Oh I've heard lots of things about the ERJs as well- never worked on em, but do you have snow where it's -20 below? We have so many bad experiences in the winter months with the 100/200s. They won't land unless the runway is bone dry, the APU is always broken, they sometimes need de-icing as early as September. We definetly miss the Dash 8 100/300 up in YXJ... I do like the 705 though (on the rare time we get one) I have to admit.

hahahah CRJs as mechanical junk? ahahahahhaha. while the embraers are freezing in -20c, the RJs are in and out without issue.

eh, boeing's good, but how the hell can you compare CRJs to a great airplane manufacturer that won't make commercial aircraft smaller than 100 seaters? look out for the C-series.

Canadair = bombardier. i used to hate the CRJs, but after witnessing the e175/190 in the winter, i must say that i love the crjs.

I agree. I flew on one almost two weeks ago and the seats are comparable to Southwest Airlines. Better than most of the legacies. |
