Kind of... He never considered it complete, regardless of it being played, and I take the composer's opinion over the publics. This was one of the rivisions, he originally had a smaller children's choir, and one of his final revisions was to increase the size in proportion to the adult's choir. It's no longer played any other way.

It was premiered in 1824. He continued to revise it after its premiere, though, if that's what you meant.
