Steve is much like his mentor and friend Zappa. A few years ago i bought the Flexable album [vynil] and there i first started to appreciate these soundscapes and recognized Zappas influence. Just like Zappa Vai can have fun making music with just a pencil and paper.

I love Vai. Beck really opened this whole road up, although I think Vai has totally carved out his own thing.

Yeah, that tape is there, because Steve sometimes hits his strings so hard that the high E (The bottom string, the thin one) gets stuck on the edge of his pickup. And the words "KONX" i don't really remember, but i think it is the name of an ancient greek guy that invented the first kind of glue or something.

there's no whammy on a banjo though ;)

Steve Vai has a style all his own, and this song shows it in spades.Nothing I like more than getting ripped and listening to this man wail on the guitar.

That was the most emotional song i've heard in a while. It was like he wasn't playing guitar for the technicality but for emotion. and raw emotion came out of that guitar and honestly there is no one like vai

One of my favourie songs from the DVD! I really like the Vai trademark whammy bar soloing at 2:56... Never heard any other guitarist do it. |
