they cant survive on the surface, they only survive in high pressure deep in the sea.

there are thousands of giant squid found on beaches everywhere round the world so why'd they have to kill this one?
GeddupNoize (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
are you retarded? the last one my ass just because there japanese does not mean they kill everything if at all possible they would have got it alive but the squids dont survive well at the surface.

They just had to kill the poor thing for 'research'. For all they know they just killed the last male or female.

They found a juvinille Colossal Squid off the Ross ice shelf in Antarctica. It was 40 feet long, but not fully grown. By doing the math off it's size and age, and comparing that with the remains of colassal squid they have recovered and studies of other evidence they have left such as scars and bites left on other animals; they approx. that they grow to around 70 feet and possibly as large as 120 feet long. They also have the largest eye on Earth, the juvinilles was the size of a dinner plate!
