Emirates Airlines Boeing 777 jumpseat landing @ runway 20R, Changi International Airport SIN/WSSS in a afternoon thunderstorm. You can clearly see the "rain line" in the middle of the runway coming to you! Typical tropical weather!

pilots use the ils in both cases. they used in good weather and in bad weather. its better to use the ils at night and in bad weather. sometimes pilots use it in good weather and if they are not famillier with the airport

they use ILS to make sure they are bang on with the glideslope and localiserm they usually keep it on autopilot until about 1500 ft hope that helps

Guys, is it necessary to use the ILS even though the weather is crystal clear? Or they only use it when they can't see clearly? Reply me.

typical Emirates Landing, Amazing, Soft, Beautiful. Best trained 777 pilots in the world.
