I am asking why it has to be attached to *wind power*, and you haven't given an answer...because there is no good answer.Let me say it again: I DO NOT want to talk about hippies, or "naturism", or nudity, or drugs, or conformity/nonconformity, or treehuggers or the like.I want to look at the issue of wind power ONLY. I don't want an earful of that other stuff. Goofy or not, I don't want to hear about it, and that's how the average person feels too. People like you drive them away.

why do u automatically assume this "goofy stuff" isnt connected?ur the 1 asking WHY its attached,(& if u dont understand it dont knock it) if ud know the history of naturism it IS about the environment(nudism:environmental impacts humans have:phosphates, pollution etc, thats why its attached to hippies tho drugs as ive stated is not part of it, they always attach hippies & drugs was my point. & the non comformity IS why its connected."treehuggers" have always have been perceived LIKE hippies.

See, there you go... Perfect example of what I was talking about. We've gone from wind power to nudism and drugs now.I mean WHY? Why do people who want to promote the benefits of renewable energy have to attach all that other goofy stuff? Let us hear about wind power without having to hear about "naturism", karma, drugs, nudity, nonconformity (and ironically, the conformity thereof), and other things that aren't *wind power*.

u can get a assessed 4 solar(wind or greyh2o recovery(now allowed))in canada mostl ppl can get solar 4 hydro or h20heating,geothermal heating cooling.wind:harder cause of bylaws in citys but thats bound 2 change w the technology & needs, things r changing :)too much of this world is of "worldly things" THE hippies mentality: its more relaxing tho no drugs & actually ur NOT supposed 2 do drugs:nudism, nature & protecting the environment.cin

blaze ur own trail..u have to think outside the box, most of this world is about conforming. creative inventors are noncomformists by nature.(naturism is about nature & includes nudism)its only recently that u can get many organic foods in a grocery store, see solar on homes or windwills in the country any 1 thinkin it was a good idea was ignored. go green: theres $ in it :)wind power(solar etc) seem to have been a lost art reborn for layppl :)luv seeing em,i want it!good 4 karma!

I really do hate to be this way (negative), but you have to produce enough energy to make it all worth it and that is why small installations of anything of this sort, for the most part, are not worth it.

I dont see her producing one watt of power with her squirrel cage wonder

Well regardless of the history of the hippie movement, it just doesn't make sense to me why counterculture -- and all the alternative viewpoints on drugs, sex, philosophy/religion, music, etc. that frequently go with it -- have to be (or maybe just seem to be) a part of 'green' technology.Right or wrong, there is a stigma attached to hippies and their culture. Stylizing the technology with a hippie feel drives the average Joe away from 'green' technology.Just an observation.

well, timothy leery loved his LSD. I don't see him as a big leader in the counterculture movement though. It was more about action then inaction. By the 70s, some hippies got burnt out though and left to their country communes to share yoghurt and grow cannabis.
