Sell Your Products
The work from home opportunity to sell your own products
The sales oriented internet work at home business, whether selling soft products (software, digital books, opportunity programs etc.) or hard goods (jewelry, cars, antiques, etc.) is marketing items, sometimes from a catalogue or storefront to various prospects and are typically pre-priced. Usually closely related to retail and sometimes wholesale work, the personal contact is usually brief with an emphasis on the particular product although your own experience with the product(s) can provide added value in the customer's eyes.
You might already have your own product (or line of products) but more often we need to find a niche of products that fits with our areas of interest and expertise. From motorcycle helmets to computer enclosures, these are the things that capture our personal interest. For me, it's better to sell musical instruments than fashion clothing, because I already know the brands, the pricing, the outlets and so forth.
In the area of soft goods there is everything from computer software to digital books, from complete websites to online casinos available to be sold. In many ways, this is an area of the internet marketplace where the competition is greatest and because products are delivered electronically (mostly) where there is also the greatest opportunity to be seperated from your money and getting little or little of use, in return.
Hard goods or soft, be careful - do your marketing research, test carefully, seek other people's opinions, join some online forums devoted to the areas of your interest before investing. Learn by baby-steps, until you know who you can trust.
My experience has shown that eBay is not only a great place to start selling (goods or services) but is also a great learning opportunity. Among other benefits, ebay now has a Market Research function which gives good information on pricing and demand for all products listed on eBay. Once you have registered (free!) you can access this at eBay and for either $2.95 a day or $9.95 a month will find a tremendous number of market details for developing your product line. Later on, you can explore XsitePro which is the place to go for creating a product-oriented website with incredible ease and speed.
You'll find other great product related information on our Resources page - please have a look!
